Sophie Desmarais International Composition Competition for Large Jazz Ensemble

Thank you in advance for your time reviewing my application. I would like to submit a score to the Sophie Desmarais International Composition Competition for Large Jazz Ensemble.

I myself am a 23 year-old, French-American, guitarist and composer based in Cardiff, UK. I just graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a first class honors in Jazz Guitar. I was also awarded the Principal’s Award for Music as well as nominated for the Musician’s Company Silver Medal.

The score I would like to submit, in a live setting, would be 10 minutes. It does include flute and synth in the demo but I could change the flute part to alto saxophone if doubling is not possible. Likewise, the synth could be played via backing track or omitted. Finally, it features aleatoric elements so please use your imagination with these as they are not accurate with a Sibelius playback. The work has never been performed. The piece is called Shower Trickles (for big band) and I hope that you enjoy it!
